Weekending

We had a dramatic shift in weather this weekend, going from sunny to pouring rain.  I'm also battling a cold, which meant that it was imperative we took advantage of the sunshine while we could in hopes of keeping germs from swarming Ella inside the house.  So we had an impromptu picnic in our backyard where Ella got to enjoy her cheese doodle al fresco.  She was really fascinated by all the birds calling and the rusting leaves in the wind.  Sometimes I forget how novel all this is to her.  It definitely helped me to just stop and enjoy the sounds of nature, too.

The gloomy weather brought us back indoors for the rest of the weekend.  Ella was fine with it as long as she had someone to entertain her.  I seriously can't get enough of this face.  (Which is a good thing since, you know, she's my kid and all.)
