Mother's Day was low-key this year, starting with a backyard BBQ with our family on Saturday, and followed by a day by the pool on Sunday. This Mother's Day I'm reminded how unpredictable parenthood is (Gavin has been exceptionally needy and Ella threw up her entire dinner on Saturday from eating too much, something we've never had to worry about with her before). I also learned that it's not for the faint of heart (especially while catching her vomit in my hands) and that there is so little we can control in the big scheme of things. Nevertheless, it was a good time reminder that while being a mom isn't always easy, being their mom is the best.
